Welcome Back, Otters!

 

The new season begins Tuesday, October 9, with practice beginning at 4:30 for the advanced and older groups and 5:45 for the younger group.  Please sign in by the locker rooms so that we know you are attending.  Bag tags indicating which group you are scheduled to attend will be issued after the first two weeks of practice, once our registration list is finalized.

 

Speaking of registration, the registration deadline of September 30 has come and gone.  If you have not yet registered, please do so IMMEDIATELY.   A great deal of data entry must occur AFTER your registration is received, and the kind parents who volunteer to do this work need to know that their job is done. 

 

Swimsuit and Otter Wear sales will occur on one night only this year—Thursday, October 25 from 4-8 p.m. A representative from T and T will be on the premises to help with fitting our new team suit, which is a solid royal blue.  We are offering two levels of suits: a Core suit, with prices of: female,$42; male jammer, $27.75; and male      brief, $23.25; and an Aquablade, with prices of: female, $63; male jammer, $52.50; and male brief, $33.  Orders must be prepaid, and all suits ordered on the evening of the 25^th will not incur a shipping and handling fee. 

Two important notes regarding team suits:  First, you don’t have to buy one; they are not mandatory.  Second, Speedo has changed its sizing for suits this year, particularly for girls.  Speedo is suggesting that your swimmer tries on a suit before purchasing, even if they have not had to do so in the past.

 

This newsletter is being sent to THREE swim team email lists:  those that have registered for the 2007-08 winter season, last winter’s team, and this past summer’s team.  Therefore, you may receive multiple copies.  Sorry!  This is the final week for that problem.  We are still trying to maintain communications with those who may have not registered yet.  Beginning with the October 15 newsletter, however, only those families that have registered for the 2007-08 season will receive the newsletter.  You can also always check it out, as well as other information, on the Otter website, www.swimotters.org.
