Hello Otter families!
Glad to see everyone survived the holiday!
Jim has already put out the signup sheet for the seasons swim
meets! It is at the front desk. Please remember, you must sign by the Monday
before a meet. Your swimmer's intent to participate in the meet has to be
marked on the
sheet (telling Jim just doesn't work...there is no way he
can remember all that!
We will be looking for volunteers for the meets - timers, line up, etc. The week
of the meet, there will be a sign up sheet at the front desk also. If anyone
wants to sign up early for a spot, please email Lisa Alexander with your request
@
mtndew4me@verizon.net
The 1st swim meet of the season is still at Kutztown on Dec.10th, but it doesn't start until noon, with warmups at 11:30!!
Please check the CPAL web site for directions - It can be accessed from our web site www.swimotters.org.
HELP is needed!! When the Otter Wear and
swim suits come, we need helpers to sit at the front desk when people come to
pick stuff up their stuff. Call or email Lisa Gehenio @ lgcrnp@hotmail.com
if you can help out. The swim
suits are expected in the week of the 5th, and the Otter Wear the next week.
Reminder-Please email or see Kathy Wingert for Giant cards. When purchased,
these will help offset the team assessment for the next season. The team, as a
nonprofit organization, is able to sell Giant gift cards for their face value
with 5% of the amount going back to the organization and the individual selling
them. Here is how it works:
The team purchases the gift cards in $100 increments. The team is charged $95 per card. You may then purchase a card or cards from the team for $100. They may be for your own personal use, or you may sell them to others for $100. The $5 profit is divided equally between the team and an "escrow' account for each family that sells the cards. So, for each card you purchase, you donate $2.50 to the team treasury and $2.50 to your family account to be used towards future team assessments.
Kathy Wingert is in charge of the Giant gift card program for our team. To be assured of getting cards, email her or phone her by 4:00 p.m. Monday each week for Thursday practice delivery. She also keeps a small number of extra cards on hand for those of us who are impulse purchasers, but the only way you can guarantee the availability of cards on a Thursday is to pre-order them by Monday of each week. Payment is due when you receive the cards.
This is an easy way to help the team treasury and cut your assessment fees and season.
Kathy's email is dkwingert@comcast.
Whew! That was a long newsletter...
See you at the pool!
