Otters Newsletter for Week of June 4
Welcome back (or welcome for the first time) to another fun summer of Otter swimming!
If you are new and have questions, feel free to speak to any board member: Barb Bohn, Nancy Pityk, Kathy Wingert, or Tina Hain. At least one of us is usually at practice, and we will be happy to help you in any way we can. And to our veteran Otter parents and Otter swimmers, we have many new faces on deck this year. Be sure to welcome these swimmers and parents to the Otter family.
IMPORTANT! The early season practice schedule distributed with the registration materials has changed due to scheduling conflicts at LVC and the extended A-C school year. The new schedule is as follows:

The regular summer practice schedule begins Monday, June 18.
Team t-shirt ordering deadline is fast approaching! Since the summer season is so short, we do not sell the Otter wear that is available during the winter season. For the first time in anyone’s memory, however, we will be offering limited-edition team t-shirts. The design will be available on the Otter website, as well as at practice. Pre-paid (checks only, please!) orders will be taken at practice until Friday, June 8. That is the ABSOLUTE DEADLINE for ordering so that we can deliver the shirts to your kids at practice on Friday, June 15, the day before our first swimming meet. The price of the shirts is $12.00, and your check should be made out to LVST. All shirts will feature the same front design on a willow green pigment-dyed t-shirt. However, there are two options for back design, and you can choose your favorite one to order. (Please note the green color shown on the computer-generated design does not accurately reflect the shade of the actual t-shirt.) Place your order at practice on “t-shirt board.” There is an envelope for payment attached to the board.
Sign up for meets- By this Wednesday, Jim will have meet commitment forms available at practice for the entire season. If you know your summer schedule now, please indicate your availability for all meets. Even if you don’t know your entire summer schedule yet, our first meet is Saturday, June 16, away at Palmyra. The deadline for signing up for this meet is Tuesday, June 12. Please sign up (yes or no) by that date. A great deal of paperwork goes into the preparation for each meet. Your conscientious response by the sign-up deadline eliminates time-consuming phone-calling, last minute line-up shuffling, and STRESS for our dedicated coaching staff. If you aren’t at practice, you can let Jim know your intentions by emailing him at jgardner@acschools.org.
Team Pictures are Wednesday, June 20th. Individual photos for little swimmers will begin at 8:00 a.m. The team picture will be taken at 8:30. Individual photos for older swimmers will take place after the team picture.
