Otter Newsletter-Week of June 27th, 2005

Congratulations, Otters, on your second victory of the season.  The score of Saturday's meet against Willowood was 546 to 447.  You can check out the complete results on the web at www.swimotters.org.

Thanks to all of the parents who volunteered to serve during Saturday's sweltering heat.  We couldn't run these meets without your help.  On that same note, thank you to all who contributed to Saturday's bake sale.  Our team raised over $700 to be used for our end-of year team gift for all swimmers.  Your contributions do make a difference.

Way to go, Otters!  We have a new trophy to be added to our soon-to-be-built trophy case.  Over 50 swimmers represented our team at the Hummelstown Relays on Monday evening.  The meet was a blast, and the team swam well during many close races.  Every Otter present contributed to our bringing home the second place team trophy.  Congratulations, team!  (In case you missed it, our coach's relay placed first in one of the most exciting relay races of all time.   It was close to 11 p.m., but our team of assistant coaches, David Gardner, Lauren Horst, Adam Demchak, and Isaac Greene, swam with gusto to claim victory!)

There's still time to be an event sponsor for the All-Star Program.  The cost is $5.00.  Go ahead and wish your swimmer well!  See Nancy Pityk if you are interested.

There is no meet this Saturday, July 2.  There will be practice on Monday, July 4.

Our next meet is Saturday, July 9 at Palmyra.  Swimmers, let Jim know your intentions by Tuesday, July 5, by signing up (yes or no) at practice.  This is always an important, hotly contested (albeit friendly) meet.  We have a fun rivalry with our neighbors to the west.  Please make every effort to attend.

Keep your calendars marked for our end-of-year awards picnic and banquet on July 27th.  More details will follow.
