Newsletter for Week of June 20, 2005

The final score of Saturday’s meet against Falcons was 605(Falcons) to 405 (Otters).

Our team had many fine swims and personal best times.  Great job!

Thanks to all of you who have volunteered to serve our kids during the last two weeks.  If you have not yet worked a meet, we will be contacting you!  Everyone, we would appreciate if you would sign up to serve before Saturday.  There are sign up boards inside the pool at every practice.  Your early commitment saves us from chaos on meet morning.  An important note: every family is expected to serve.

Here are the important items for attention this week:

Our meet this Saturday at home against Willowwood.

      1)  Jim needs to know which swimmers will be attending this meet.  Sign up for the meet by Tuesday at practice or by calling Jim at home.  An incredible amount of paperwork goes into each meet.  You can help by letting Jim know promptly whether your child will or will not be swimming.  Let him know either way.

      2)  For those of you who signed up to help with bulkhead and meet set-up, (and even if you didn't), we will meet at the pool Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. to set up.  Wear a bathing suit, bring a towel, and pray for good weather.  We could use more help on this committee.  Please sign up and show up!

      3) Every family, whether or not your children are swimming in the meet, is also expected to contribute to our bake sale.  For this week’s meet, we will be checking off contributions.  Please label your donations and make sure the workers check off your name as you drop off your items.  The items you are assigned depend on the first letter of your last name.  Here is the break down for this week's meet.

Donuts or Bagels (1 doz. only please)

Please be generous!  The monies earned support our purchase of a team gift for our swimmers at year’s end.

      4) Swimmers should arrive on Saturday by 7:15 a.m.  The meet starts at 8:30 a.m.

      5) Picture day is Wednesday, June 22 at 8 a.m.  Order forms are available at practice.

      6) All – Star Meet Program Note:  All advertisements and money are due on June 23rd.  Parents should turn in the advertisement copy and check to Nancy Pityk or Rachiele Peters at practice.  We can run the same ad as last year, if the parents indicate their intentions on their paperwork.  Any questions should be directed to Nancy at 274-1651.

      7)  Michael Pityk lost a Gameboy game, the Wars II,  at Saturday’s meet against Falcons.  Please check your bags and game holders to see if Michael’s game became intermingled with yours.
