Otter Newsletter for Week of July 16, 2006

Congratulations, Otter team, on your win over Heatherfield on Saturday.  The
2006 summer season has been our most successful in years, as we have posted
a 4-1 record in Division A of the Mid-Penn Swimming League.  Additionally,
in the three invitational meets attended by the Otters this summer, we
placed FIRST in the Hummelstown relays, FIRST in the Middletown 10 and under
Invitational, and SECOND in the Willowwood Invitational.  Great job, team!
Let's keep up the winning momentum as we reach our most competitive meets of
the season, the Divisional, All-Star, and Mid-Cap meets.

Otter Fun Nights this week:

For swimmers 12 and under:  Golf at Yogi's on Wednesday, July 19th at
5:30ish.  Raindate is July 20.  Golf is the coach's treat.  Bring money if
you'd like snacks.

For those 13 and older:  Cookout at the farm, or pool depending on the temp,
on Thursday, July 20th, from 8-9:30 p.m.

For those that signed up by submitting entry preference sheets to Jim,
Divisionals are this Saturday at Palmyra.  Warm-ups begin promptly at 7 a.m.
The meet begins at 8:30.  You can reach the Palmyra pool by taking 422 West
to Palmyra.  At the square turn left onto south Railroad Street.  At fork,
bear left.   Pool will be on right-hand side.

Divisionals is the qualifying meet for All-Stars, hosted by US this Sunday
at home.  Thanks to all of you who have already responded to the request to
serve.  We still have openings for the bake sale.  Please sign up on the
boards at practice.

Set- up for All-Stars begins Saturday night promptly at  6:00 p.m.  We need
a representative from each family for set-up, even if you do not have a
child participating in the meet.  Remember what your grandma told you (at
least mine did):  Many hands make light work!

Thanks to all of you who have submitted pictures to David Gardner.  He now
has some specific requests.  We have many photos of kids swimming.  But, as
any Otter knows, the Otter experience is much more than swimming laps in the
pool.  We are calling on all of our wonderful photographers for some candid
photos:  kids behind the blocks, kids playing game boys, kids cheering
obnoxiously, coaches instructing kids, parents working at the bake sale and
ribbon tables, etc.

Mark your calendars now for our End- of- Season Otter Awards Night on
Wednesday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m.  More details will follow in next week's
newsletter.
