Otter Newsletter for Week of January 6, 2008
Congratulations to all of the little Otters who participated in the Frosty
Frolic on Sunday. We had a record 37 Otters attending. Great job!
Jim is entering the very busy high school and college swimming crunch time, and
he is hoping to get some of his Otter paperwork squared away early. We have two
remaining dual meets, and he would like you to indicate your intentions by
MONDAY, JANUARY 7, (That’s today!) for BOTH meets. They are:
--This Saturday, January 12, away, at the Aquatic Club of the West Shore. The
team swims about an hour away in the Natatorium of the Red Land High School.
Warm-ups will begin at 9:15. The meet starts at 10:00.
--January 19, home, against also undefeated Lower Paxton Aquatic Club. We will
also have our Senior Recognition at this meet, beginning at 7:30. Warm-ups for
Otters will begin at 7:00. The meet will start at 8:30.

A few miscellaneous items . . .
Due to high school and college meets, there are several practice schedule
changes in the upcoming months. Be sure to check your paper copies or the
complete calendar now posted on the web.
Weather issue information: In the event of inclement weather, cancellations and
postponements will be posted immediately on the team website, www.swimotters.org.
This is our fastest and most efficient way of letting everyone know what’s going
on. If you do not see anything posted on the home page of the website, you can
assume that, at that moment, the event is being held as scheduled. Be sure to
refresh your browser if you keep the home page up on your computer. We will also
attempt to alert WLBR Radio.
Meet day emergencies: In the event of an emergency the morning of the meet (i.e.
My child was up all night barfing and won’t be swimming even though she signed
up), call Jim at 867-4918 or 270-7012. In the event you do not speak to him live
at either number, call 507-9896.
Lost IPOD: A NYAC swimmer lost a purple IPOD shuffle (brand new) at our meet on
the 22nd. If you know anything about this item, please email Kathy Wingert at
dkwingert@comcast.net.
