WSA SWIM MEET @ HOME, January 22, 2005
SWIMMERS REPORT BY: 7:15 a.m.
MEET START: 8:30 a.m.
HERE IS IMPORTANT NEWS ITEM!!!!!! The college will have many sporting events taking place this Saturday including our home swim meet. The parking lot will be swamped with cars/ buses / vans starting at 10:00.
All parents will need to drop children off at football field entrance...THEN park their cars in the west lot...that is the one on the other side of football field....this is important....
when meet is over...they must leave through the west entrance (next to front desk).
One last thing…LOCKER ROOMS…if at all possible, all locker rooms should be vacated by Otter swimmers no later than 11:30 due to college swimmers coming in and getting ready for their swim meet at the college. By all means, the locker rooms may be used for changing, use of the restrooms, etc., but please try to “set up camp” outside of the locker rooms (i.e. hallways, racquetball court, upstairs).
THANKS FOR EVERYONE’S ATTENTION TO THESE FEW DETAILS. WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE THINGS RUN AS SMOOTHLY AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Here's the breakdown for the concession stand. If your last name begins with:
A-E Baked goods (no cupcakes)/ Snacks or Candy
and 6 pk. soda (cans) coke or Water (16 oz.)
F-J Donuts or Bagels (please, 1 doz. only), and 6 pk.
soda (cans) of anything diet
K-Q 6 pk. of Gatorade (PowerAde) and $2 towards
pizza delivery
R-Z Veggies or Fresh Fruit and 6 pk. Water (16 oz.)
(veggies - 6-8 carrot sticks & 6-8 celery sticks per
baggie)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: To show our appreciate to Jim and Mary, we will be collecting a monetary gift from any parent wishing to say “THANK YOU”. This gift is to show our appreciation to them both for all their hard work, time, dedication and love given to each and everyone of our Otters. PICTURE DAY - Picture Day is this Thursday, Jan. 20th starting at 4:30. The group picture will be taken at 5:15 and they will finish up with any individuals after the group shot is taken. The picture form must be filled out and check enclosed when your individual shot is taken. WEAR TEAM SUITS!!! or whatever your team suit is.
NOTE:
1. Even if you are not purchasing an individual picture, please come to be included for the group picture.
2. Swimmers should also come to practice if they can. Some practice may take place before/and after the group shot.
WSY Valentine Invitational - 9 & Under Swim Meet hosted by the West Shore Y at the Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg on Sunday, Feb. 13th. Meet time 1:10 pm. Cari Zelko has offered to coach our young ones at this invitational. Last year this meet was a little chaotic, but it looks like they are making some changes to help it run smoothly. These 9 & Under Invitationals are a great way for the little ones to swim against swimmers their own age. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email Cari at czelko@comcast.net. Cari is the Hummelstown Swim Team coach in the summer and is very familiar with making sure the swimmers are where they need to be on the swim deck before their event.
END OF YEAR CELEBRATION: SAVE THIS DATE: Friday, February 25th is going to be our "End Of The Year Celebration". Look for more info in the coming weeks.
Keystone 9 & Under Invitational - Saturday, March 5th at the Chambersburg YMCA. Warm ups at 8:30, meet starts at 9:30. When you sign up for this invitational you need to go by the swimmers age the day of the meet. Look for more info at the front desk.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: With Jack Frost nipping at our nose/toes, snow is just around the corner. For inclement weather, tune into WLBR 1270 AM for announcements. A phone chain is in progress. We will try and notify everyone either by phone, email or radio. AGAIN, PLEASE USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT!!!!
