Otter Newsletter for Week of December 28, 2008
Happy New Year, everyone! In the post-Christmas lull, I was LULLED into thinking no newsletter was needed this week. I was WRONG! (Don’t tell my husband!) We have two meets scheduled for this weekend for those that signed up to participate.
First, we have a league, dual meet against the Hershey Aquatic Club at the Hershey Plaza Pool (which is next to the Hershey Library and the Cocoa Castle, just off 322). Be on deck by 7:15. The meet begins around 8:10.
We do need volunteers to staff this meet. If you are willing to officiate (we need 4 stroke and turn’s, 2 finish judges, and one recall starter), email Kathy Wingert at dkwingert@comcast.net. If you are willing to time, email Kris Fox at kfox@lebanon.k12.pa.us. and cc Kathy Wingert on the email. If you are willing to help with line up, email Rachiele Peters at rachiele_peters@pasd.us and cc Kathy Wingert.
Second, some of our younger swimmers have signed up to participate in the Frosty Frolic at Elizabethtown College on Sunday. As of now, swimmers should arrive by 10:55 a.m. for warm-ups. Directions to the pool, as well as a map of the E-town Campus, can be found on the Elizabethtown Aquatic Club website at www.eacgators.com/frostyfrolic.php.
For meet day emergencies ONLY, (i.e. your child signed up for the meet but woke up throwing up and now won’t be coming, you got a flat tire, etc.), call Jim’s cell phone at 270-7012 or David’s cell phone at 644-1220.
Otterwear is coming!!!! Thanks to the design work of Karen Peachey, we will be placing a team order for Otter-themed apparel. Watch for order forms in the next week.
A pair of sweatpants (the nylon type) was found at the last swim meet. They are being lovingly laundered and folded by Nicole Enigk. If this item belongs in your laundry basket, see Nicole.
Thanks to all for their flexibility during the locker room renovations. You are all a fine bunch!
As the weather turns frosty, please note that cancellations are always posted first on the Otter website. We will also try to send out an email, but the website is the FIRST method of notification. When in doubt, check the website, and always use your best judgment even if practice hasn’t been officially cancelled.
