Hello Otters!

Thanks to all of you who promptly returned your registration forms and volunteered to serve our kids during the upcoming season.  It's going to be a great year.

Here are the important items for attention this week:

Our first meet is this Saturday at home against Heatherfield.

      1)  It is very important that Jim knows who is planning on attending.  Sign up for the meet by Tuesday at practice or by calling Jim at home.  An incredible amount of paperwork goes into each meet.  You can help by letting Jim know promptly whether your child will or will not be swimming.  Let him know either way.

      2)  For those of you who signed up to help with bulkhead and meet set-up, (and even if you didn't), we will meet at the pool Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. to set up.  Wear a bathing suit and bring a towel.

      3) For meet day--Saturday--we still need many volunteers.  Sign up on the boards outside the pool at practice or call Kris Fox to volunteer.  Every family is expected to lend a hand.

      4) Every family, whether or not your children are swimming in the meet, is also expected to contribute to our bake sale.  The items you are assigned depend on the first letter of your last name.  Here is the break down for this week's meet.

A - E    Water (16 oz. bottles) & snacks or baked goods

F - J    6 pk soda (cans) root beer, orange soda or caffeine-free coke &  fruit or celery & carrots (6-8 pieces per baggie)

K - Q    6 pk. Gatorade (16 oz.) & candy (no chocolate bars)

R - Z    6 pk. soda ( cans) coke, sprite or diet &
Donuts or Bagels (1 doz. only please)

      5) Swimmers should arrive on Saturday by 7:15 a.m.  The meet starts at 8:30 a.m.

Indoor practice continues this week.  (See the schedule in your registration packet or check www.swimotters.org  .)  We are outdoors at the A-C Pool for Saturday's meet and practices starting June 13.

      6) Picture day is June 22 at 8 a.m.  Order forms are available at practice.

Happy swimming!
